Arrest Made in Child Pornography Investigation

​VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - On September 30, 2021. The Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) Special Operations executed a search warrant in the 600 block of Red Horse Lane as part of a child pornography investigation.

46-year-old Joel Matthew Botts, of Virginia Beach, was arrested and charged with 15 counts of possession of child pornography and one count of distribution of child pornography. He is currently being held on no bond in the Virginia Beach City Jail.

The investigation is still ongoing by detectives with the Special Investigations Bureau
