Party Changes after June 10th are Limited

Registered voters who are affiliated with a party (Democratic, Republican, Libertarian) may not file paperwork to change their party affiliation from June 10th through August of this year.

Deadline: June 10

A law passed in 2014 by the Kansas Legislature prohibiting party members from switching parties during a period beginning June 1st, through the date when the results of the August primary are certified. This year, due to redistricting, the deadline has been extended to June 10th.

Registered voters who are affiliated with a party
(Democratic, Republican, Libertarian)
may not file paperwork to change theirParty affiliation from
June 10 through August of this year.

A registered voter who is unaffiliated may, however, affiliate with a party during this period, when voting at the primary, or when requesting an advance ballot.
