COLUMBUS - Columbus Crew SC today announced that midfielder Luis Argudo was selected by Inter Miami CF with its fourth selection (seventh overall) in today's 2019 Major League Soccer Expansion Draft. Current clubs that had players selected received $50,000 in General Allocation Money in return. Argudo, who played for Crew SC for two seasons, joins Inter Miami CF for its inaugural MLS season in 2020.
Argudo, a 23-year-old midfielder, signed with Crew SC on March 1, 2018 after being selected in the Third Round of the 2018 MLS SuperDraft. He made 39 total regular-season appearances (16 starts) while registering one goal and three assists.
The MLS offseason continues with the MLS End-of-Year Waivers taking place on Monday, November 25 at 3:00 p.m. ET. MLS Free Agency is also slated to begin at that time. The 2019 MLS Re-Entry Process, Stage 1 will follow on Tuesday, November 26 at 3:00 p.m. ET, with Stage 2 of the Re-Entry Process taking place on Tuesday, December 3 at 3:00 p.m. ET.
