Medical Camp at Lakshadweep Islands by INHS Sanjivani

As part of Navy Day 2022 outreach activites, a multi specialist medical camp was organised by 28-member team of specialist and sub specialist from INHS Sanjivani at Lakshadweep Islands under aegis of SNC. The camp was organised from 01-05 November 2022 wherein medical team visited Androth, Minicoy, Kavaratti and Bitra Islands.The camp saw an overwhelming presence of 3300 patients.The medical camp was inaugurated by Surg Cmde Ashok K Yadav Commanding Officer, INHS Sanjivani. The camp was held at Ayushman Bharat Heath and Wellness Centre at Androth, Government Hospital at Minicoy, Indira Gandhi hospital at Kavaratti and Community Health Centre at Bitra. The team comprised of pediatrician, dermatologists, radiologists, dentist, Ophthalmologist, Orthopedic surgeon, ENT specialist, physicians, Nursing officers and paramedic personnel. At Androth Is, 1600 patients registered for the camp and 450 patients had multi specialty cross appointments. At Minicoy approx 1600 patients had registered for the camp. The gynaecologist saw four antenatal cases and all the expectant mothers underwent anomaly scan. At Kavaratti, approx 655 patients had registered for the camp.A record 63 antenatal anomaly scans were conducted in a single day. As a part of the camp activities, Basic Life Support BLS training was also provided to adolescents, health care staff and teachers of various schools. The medical camp was well received by populace as well as the Health Department of the UTL Administration.Patients as well as the hospital office bearers were extremely satisfied and appreciated initiative and efforts of the Indian Navy towards the camp.
