The Deputy Minister of National Defence Mr Nikolaos Chardalias, in the context of his daily contacts with members of the Armed Forces, went today, Tuesday 24 May 2022, to the "Major General Andreas Kallinskis" Camp, in Nea Peramos - Attica, where he conducted a visit to the Special Forces Training Centre, the Special Paratroopers Detachment and the Zeta Amphibious Raider Squadron, accompanied by the Chief of HNDGS General Konstantinos Floros.

Other attendants, during the visit, were the following: the Commander of the Special Warfare Command of HNDGS Lieutenant General Georgios Tsitsikostas, the Director of the Special Forces Directorate of HAGS Major General Dimitrios Vounisios, the Commander of the Joint Special Operations Command Major General Georgios Manouras and the Commander of the Studies and Construction Unit of HNDGS Major General Michail Klouvas.

The Deputy Minister of National Defence was briefed by the Commander of the Special Warfare Command, Lieutenant General Georgios Tsitsikostasand the Commander of the Special Forces Training Centre Colonel Georgios Gavounos, on the organisation, mission, training curriculum, operational work and the current activities of the Command, of its subordinate units and of the Centre correspondingly.

In the context of the visit, Mr Chardalias was given a tour of the facilities of the Special Forces Training Centre, of the Special Paratroopers Detachment and the Zeta Amphibious Raider Squadron, he observed a fixed weapon systems, materials and assets demonstration of the Special Paratroopers Detachment and Zeta Amphibious Raider Squadron, as well as the ongoing training of their members on subjects of Battle Swimming.

Furthermore, he was briefed on and inspected the progress of works for the upgrade of the port of the Special Forces Training Centre (deepening and widening of the current jetty) and the construction of the new building structures, which will cover the current operational requirements and the integrated support - maintenance of the waterborne assets and the diving equipment of the Special Operations Units as well as the sum of the Army's Units.
