Floor installation at McGuire Dent Recreation Center begins next week

The McGuire Dent Recreation Center is getting a makeover with the installation of new flooring beginning on Thursday, May 2.

The recreation center will be closed on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (May 2-4) and reopen Monday, May 6 at 6 a.m. while the new floors are installed in the fitness equipment section of the rec center.

The new floors are one of many new improvements at the recreation center, including painting the walls in the fitness area. In recent months, the City renovated two multipurpose rooms in the facility. These renovations included new flooring, wall-to-wall mirrors for workout classes, and new paint.

The enhancements have been funded by the recreation center's user fees and CDBG Cares Act funding. Thank you for your patience while the center is closed.
