Partners Ben Chew and Camille Vasquez Recognized in Variety’s 2024 ‘Legal Impact Report’

Partners Ben Chew and Camille Vasquez have been named to Variety's 2024 "Legal Impact Report," which recognizes Hollywood's top entertainment lawyers who are "well-equipped to make award-winning wins for their clients."

The report, released on April 17, profiled the pair's win for actor Johnny Depp in his defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard; the complaint they filed on behalf of Mexican pop star Gloria Trevi against her former manager Sergio Andrade; and their representation of A$AP Relli against former friend and A$AP Mob member A$AP Rocky and his lawyer Joe Tacopina for defamation. The profile also mentioned Vasquez's successful defense of "Yellowstone" actress Q'orianka Kilcher in a worker's compensation fraud matter, rehabilitating her reputation in the process.

Chew and Vasquez, who co-chair Brown Rudnick's Brand and Reputation Management group, take a holistic approach when handling client matters, instead of solely focusing on the courtroom. They also take into account public opinion and how to protect and restore that.

"The law needs to catch up to what we're seeing happening, especially in the brand and reputation management industry where people are concerned about their brand and how they're portrayed," Vasquez told Variety. "We are really limited in what we can do and what we can recommend clients do in regard to deep fakes or AI generated images."
