Climate-Friendly Garden Tour on Saturday, May 18th

This year's Climate-Friendly Garden Tour takes place in Napa on Saturday, May 18 from 10 am to 4 pm, as eleven local gardens provide inspiration for creating your own resource-efficient landscaping. Showcasing beautiful and vibrant yards that are climate-smart and water-wise, the tour incorporates a variety of garden sizes and styles. Tourgoers will encounter eye-catching drought-tolerant and native plants, pollinator habitat, edible gardens, smart irrigation, and rainwater catchment. Soil health practices will be emphasized and there will even be a free compost giveaway! With our highly variable climate, doing more with less water is a key theme. Several of the host gardeners are do-it-yourselfers who have earned "Cash For Grass" rebates after removing unneeded high-water-use lawn. Tourgoers will benefit from three mini-workshops, with topics including soil tilling, water absorption, and irrigation conversion.

Las Flores Learning Garden at 4300 Linda Vista Avenue will serve as the event hub, hosting day-of ticket sales, the free compost giveaway, and exhibits by local climate-friendly agencies and organizations. Each adult attendee must purchase a Tour Guide Brochure which acts as the entrance ticket for all eleven gardens. Featuring garden descriptions and addresses, maps, and workshop locations, the brochure costs $5. The event is free for children. Purchase tickets online in advance at NapaRCD.org/GardenTour2024, or on tour day in-person at Las Flores Learning Garden. If you purchase online by May 8, you will receive the brochures in the mail. If you purchase online after May 8, you can pick them up at Las Flores on tour day.

This event is sponsored by City of Napa Water, Napa County RCD, and UCCE Master Gardeners.
