Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation near the 6200 block of Ohaus Court. The call for service came in at 5:43 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2019.
Officers in the North Division responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call for service on Ohaus Court, and when they arrived they located a residence which had been shot into and a male victim with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim, who was located inside the residence, was pronounced deceased on scene. The victim's identity will be released pending family notification.
Detectives with the Homicide Unit have responded to the scene to conduct the investigation and are currently canvassing the area to determine whether there are any additional witnesses to this incident.
Crime Scene Search has responded to the call for service to process the scene and collect physical evidence. Representatives of the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's Homicide Prosecution Team, Victim Services, CFD, Medic and Operations Command responded to the scene.
This is an active and ongoing investigation. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD's Public Affairs Office.
