Press briefing on next week’s plenary session - Friday, 15 October, at 11.00

Spokespersons for Parliament and for political groups will hold a briefing on the 18-21 October plenary session this Friday at 11.00, in Parliament's Anna Politkovskaya press room.

Key topics next week include:


  • The Rule of law crisis in Poland and the primacy of EU law, with Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and Commission President Ursula von der Leyen
  • Pandora Papers: Combatting money laundering, tax evasion and avoidance
  • UN Climate Change Conference COP26 in Glasgow
  • Farm to Fork Strategy for more sustainable food
  • Sakharov Prize 2021 winner
  • Preparation of the 21-22 October EU summit

Parliament's spokespersons will also provide information on the last of four European Citizens' Panels that will come together in Strasbourg from this Friday to Sunday to focus on the EU's role in the world and on migration.


They will also inform journalists on the Conference on the Future of Europe Plenary meeting next weekend. Following the selection of 80 members from the European Citizens' Panels, the Plenary will meet in its full composition for the first time.
