  • Senate - The Senate confirmed several nominations and agreed to a procedural vote to proceed with an FAA reauthorization bill (H.R. 3935).
  • House - The House passed the Protecting Access for Hunters and Anglers Act of 2023 (H.R. 615), the Trust the Science Act (H.R. 764), the Superior National Forest Restoration Act (H.R. 3195), the Western Economic Security Today (WEST) Act of 2024 (H.R. 3397), the Antisemitism Awareness Act of 2023 (H.R. 6090), the Alaska's Right to Produce Act of 2023 (H.R. 6285), and H. Res. 1112, "Denouncing the Biden administration's immigration policies."
  • Biden Administration - On April 30, President Biden signed a National Security Memorandum to "secure and enhance the resilience of U.S. critical infrastructure" by protecting "U.S. infrastructure against all threats and hazards, current and future."

Next Week In Washington

  • Senate - The Senate will reconvene on Tuesday, May 7, and is expected to continue processing nominees and consider the FAA reauthorization bill (H.R. 3935).
  • House- The House will reconvene on Monday, May 6, and may consider the Mining Regulatory Clarity Act of 2024 (H.R. 2925), the Hands Off Our Home Appliances Act (H.R. 6192), the Equal Representation Act (H.R. 7109), and H.J. Res. 109, A Congressional Review Act vote that would overturn an SEC staff position on crypto custodians and accounting for those crypto liabilities.
