Global Compact Network Colombia recognizes businesses committed to sustainable business practices

Bogota, 8 May 2019 -Global Compact Network Colombia in partnership with the Bogota Chamber of Commerce convened over 600 representatives from Government, the United Nations and the private sector to recognize businesses committed to best practices in advancing sustainable development at the 9th Annual Global Compact Network Colombia Congress.

Nominations were taken earlier this spring from the public, private and not-for-profit sectors in categories corresponding to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The 135 nominations received were judged by an expert committee composed of 70 SDG leaders, and recognition was given to businesses that showcased compliance with best practices in advancing sustainable development and were especially driven to advance the implementation of the 2030 Agenda.

At the 9th Annual Global Compact Network Colombia Congress, businesses were recognized for commitment to best practices in advancing sustainable development.

The initiative was created to support the growth and expansion of innovation and high-calibre management with special attention to the actions required to advance the implementation of the SDGs in Colombia.

The event also highlighted how Government, youth and civil society can work on impactful, multi-dimensional projects that deliver on the Global Goals at the local level.
