The Canam Group's employee Holiday party for the Montreal region (both Boucherville and Laval locations) was held on Saturday, December 7. The evening was the perfect opportunity to host a fundraising event for the Cancer Research Society and a grand total of $50,000 will be donated to the Society on behalf of Canam Group and its employees.
A significant donation
For each employee who agreed to arrive at the event with a shaved head or have their head shaved on-site, Canam Group donated an amount of money, in addition to the donations raised by the employees themselves. A total of 70 employees and spouses went home with a bald head. Of these, six women lost their long hair. Several people were influenced during the evening to pass under the razor.
Marc Dutil, President and Chief Executive Officer, challenged colleagues with these words: 'We must think of those we have lost and of our colleagues and friends who are going through a difficult time to recognize that the cause is excellent and forgive me if the method is not painless…'
Individuals who would like to make a donation can do so directly on the Society's website.
Congratulations to all for this symbolic gesture against cancer and for the great amount raised!

The idea of a special activity for the Holiday party came up during a discussion between Marc Dutil and Alejandro Camalda, Building Technical Specialist that we see here being shaved.
Many have been influenced by their colleagues to lose their hair. Is this the case for René Guizzetti, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer; Louis Guertin, Vice President, Legal Affairs and Secretary; and Mike Burnet, Senior Vice President, Purchasing?
