Aircraft and helicopters Mig-29 and Ka-52 'Alligator' of the Egyptian air force launched a mock group air strike during the joint Russian-Egyptian air defense exercises 'Arrow of Friendship-2019' near Cairo.
Aviation completed the tasks of airborne assaults of a mock enemy, acting from different lines, both as part of group and single targets, at different altitudes and speeds. Also, Mig-29 aircraft carried out conventional bombing, and near the launch and firing positions of the Buk-M2E and Tor-M2E anti-aircraft missile systems, simulated mines were detonated.
In turn, the joint crews of Russia and Egypt by air defense systems completed the tasks of searching, detecting, identifying, tracking and destroying these targets with electronic launches. Then the units worked out the change of their positions and made a march to the designated area.
At the final stage of the exercise, live-fire drills will be carried out from all involved air defense systems against unmanned aerial vehicles.
Joint divisions of Buk-M2E, Tor-M2E and Shilka-M4 and Russian-made Igla-S portable air defense systems were involved in practical actions.
The joint exercise of the air defense forces of Russia and Egypt, 'Arrow of Friendship-2019' is held for the first time and takes place on the territory of the African continent from October 26 to November 7.
The joint exercises is held in accordance with the international military cooperation plan and were targeted to strengthen and develop military cooperation of the two countries.
More than 100 servicemen of the Southern Military District take part in the episodes from the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
