Lecture on the History of Cycling Sept. 21

Accompanying the Student Union Fine Arts Gallery's student-curated exhibition, 'Cycling Through: A Story of Community and Change,' George Knight will present his talk 'Bikes Are the Answer: A Cyclorama of the First 200 Years' at 6 p.m. Sept. 21 in the Hatch C Ballroom of the Student Union Building.

With emphasis on 'primitive' bicycles of the 19th century, and in celebration of the timeless value of bicycling as a human activity, this lecture will follow a not-so-linear course along the bicycle's historical time line.

Knight is a lifelong bicyclist who also has taken part in local and statewide advocacy efforts. He teaches in Boise State University's Department of Philosophy.

The exhibit, 'Cycling Through: A Story of Community and Change,' runs through Sept. 24 in the Student Union Fine Arts Gallery.

The Student Union Exhibition Series is a program of the Boise State University Student Union within the Division of Campus Operations.
