The City of Valdez Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department has partnered with CivicRec to implement its parks and recreation management software solution. The cloud-based recreation management solution will allow residents greater access to parks and recreation activities, classes, and services offered by the department, including convenient online registration and payment options.
CivicRec allows users to browse an online catalog of all current parks and recreation programs and events offered and what's coming up in the near future. It allows residents greater flexibility in the way they can use their account, including the ability to view account and transaction history, as well as an event calendar which lists all activities, classes, and reservations in one handy location.
CivicRec is designed to be intuitive to navigate and easy for residents to use. It is mobile-friendly, allowing residents to search for community activities and events, register for programs, and remit payment from their preferred device, including smartphones and tablets.
Due to the current situation with the COVID-19 pandemic, residents may be limited in the features available to them for the near term. In the future, additional features will become available including making online rental requests for community facilities, such as the swimming pool, recreation center, and park pavilions.
The City of Valdez's CivicRec platform will go live on June 1, 2020 at 10:00am. Residents will need to create a new online account and are encouraged to do so early. They can do so by visiting www.ValdezAK.gov/Register and following the instructions provided.
