Congressman Gonzalez Announces $1.3 Million for Community Council of South Central Texas from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services

Washington, DC - Today, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) announced $1,311,305 in funding from Head Start for the Community Council of South Central Texas. This grant will support South Texas familiesand school programs in the creation of individualized approaches that foster academic success.

The Head Start Program, housed within the Administration for Children and Families at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services,promotes school readiness for children aged three to five from low-income households.The programfocuses on enhancing cognitive, social, and emotional development with an emphasis on building familial relationships. Community Council of South Central Texas will use this grant to serve New Braunfels ISD's and Seguin ISD's Head Start children in conjunction with their Pre-K programs.

"Ensuring our children have a solid foundation to build upon is vital for their scholastic and personal growth," said Congressman Gonzalez. "Congratulations to Community Council of South Central Texas for receiving this substantial grant to uplift the youth and families in our community.
