On October 20, 2019, at approximately 12:21a.m., New York State Troopers responded to a three-vehicle crash in the Eastbound lane of the New York State Thruwayin the Town of Tyre, SenecaCounty.
Two individuals involvedin the crash succumbed to their injuries. Two other individualswere transported to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY, both listed in stable condition. Another individual involvedin the crash was transported to Upstate Medical Centerin Syracuse, NY,and islisted in critical condition.
Troopers were assisted on scene by the New York State Thruway Authority, the Magee, Junius, Clyde, and CanogaFire Departments, theNorth Seneca, South Seneca, Finger Lakes, Clyde and Lyons Ambulance, Seneca County Fire Coordinators Office,and theLife-Net and Mercy Flight medical helicopters. A portion of the Thruway was shut down for a period of time, during the crash investigation.
The investigation is currently ongoing and all names are being withheld at this time, pending next of kin notifications.
