Panthers on Parade Arrives in Cedar Falls

The City of Cedar Falls and the University of Northern Iowa were proud to present Panthers on Parade during a reception at the McLeod Center on April 30. The community partnership project features 27 TC Mascot busts, each decorated by a local Iowa artist.

Cedar Falls Mayor Danny Laudick, UNI President Mark Nook, and Cedar Falls Tourism and Cultural Programs Manager Jennifer Pickar all provided remarks during the event celebrating the coming together of the city and university.

"So many people are in Cedar Falls because of the University of Northern Iowa," said Mayor Laudick. "We are truly stronger together and this project is a way to unite our amazing community by showcasing that partnership while providing a great opportunity for our local artists."

"We thank the University of Northern Iowa, the participating businesses, the talented artists, and our incredible City staff for bringing this idea to life."

The mascots will be installed at sponsoring businesses the week of May 1 and will be on display through October. The public can follow Cedar Falls Tourism @CedarFallsIA for location spotlights in the coming months or visit www.panthersonparade.com for more information and to view the complete list of mascots and artists.
