Parallel to this, a capacity and competence development plan is executed in the installation, maintenance and care of the nurseries, as well as in the final field preparation.

Results

At the moment, the results obtained are 1,200 plants per nursery, 1,100 cocoa seedlings and 100 macambo seedlings, exceeding the initially set goal of 1000 seedlings per nursery.

In this sense, the actions of the project have focused on good practices in the management of the nursery to obtain quality seedlings that face the difficulties that may arise in the field.

The project's social approach also considers campaigns to clean up the waste left by each activity, so that organic waste is used for composting to improve the quality of the soils where cacao and macambo are grown.

As a sustainability strategy, the establishment of an associative model on the beneficiary group is proposed to give continuity to said proposal and increase its negotiating power in the commercialization of cocoa cultivation.

It is important to highlight that the "IUSU" Project is part of the productive projects component of the Social Investment line of the high-impact strategy for the Social Management of the North Peruvian Pipeline.
