Frederick Police Conduct Death Investigation

The Frederick Police Department is investigating the death of a man that occurred on Monday evening.

On April 15, 2024, at approximately 6:36 PM, officers of the Frederick Police Department were dispatched to the 1300 block of Hampshire Drive, in Frederick City, for a reported stabbing. During the initial investigation it was determined that two individuals known to the suspect were stabbed, sustaining minor injuries. The suspect, believed to be inside of the residence, failed to answer the door after multiple attempts from officers to make contact. Following several unsuccessful attempts to establish communication, the Frederick Police Department's Special Response Team and Crisis Negotiator Team were called to the scene.

Following further failed attempts to establish contact with the individual, entry was made into the residence. Inside, the suspect was discovered deceased. The manner of death is still under investigation and the suspect is not being identified at this time.

This investigation has been assigned to the Frederick Police Department's Major Crimes Unit. Detectives are asking anyone with additional information regarding this incident to come forward.
