ICOMIA releases new report following the 103rd Maritime Safety Committee meeting

The International Council of Maritime Industry Associations (ICOMIA) has released a new post with the title 'IMO - Report from MSC 103 by Patrick Hemp', which can be found on the ICOMIA Intranet, in the Superyacht Division. Once logged in, you can click on the hyperlink to view and respond to the post IMO - Report from MSC 103. This report follows on from the 103rd session of the Maritime Safety Committee (MSC) held from the 5 to 14 May 2021.

There were four principal items of interest during this meeting, which were:

  • Guidelines for safety measures for yachts in polar waters approved (300 GT (Gross Tonnage) and above but less than 500 GT)
  • Progress on developing legislation for autonomous vessels
  • Safety measures relating to fuel oil
  • New cybersecurity guidelines published
