Final Consultation on the draft of the Second SDG National Implementation Plan 2022-2024

Agenda 2030 encourages countries to integrate the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into planning and policy, on both a national and international level. As a whole-of-government initiative overseen by the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications, each Minister has responsibility for implementing individual SDG targets related to their functions.

We are now in the process of finalising the draft of the Second SDG National Implementation Plan which will set out arrangements for interdepartmental coordination, stakeholder engagement and actions needed for further SDG Implementation from 2022 to 2024.

A fundamental feature when developing this Implementation Plan is listening to and integrating the voice of stakeholders. This approach is reflective of the fact that the SDGs belong to everybody and that governments will need to work in partnership with society to achieve the Goals.

An initial consultation process held last summer reached over 5,000 individuals, and the feedback received has directly informed the priorities and actions of this draft Implementation Plan.

We are now launching a final round of consultation on the draft Implementation Plan to facilitate an additional opportunity for feedback and to form the basis for discussions at the relaunch of the SDG National Stakeholder Forum.

If you would like to share your views on the draft Implementation Plan and actions due for delivery from 2022 to 2024, please email us at [email protected]

This final round of consultation is open until 5.30pm, 14 June 2022 . Please note, we cannot accept submissions by post at this time.

You can view the Draft document below.
