Deadline Approaching for Absentee Ballots for May 7 Special Election

April 30, 2024- Registered voters in the city who wish to receive an absentee ballot for the May 7 Special Election must submit their application by mail or via email by 5 p.m. on Friday, May 3. The Midland City Clerk's office will be open Saturday, May 4 and Monday, May 6 from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. to receive in-person requests for absentee ballots, allow in-person absentee ballot voting, register new voters, and assist voters with questions.

Voters are reminded to return their voted absentee ballots to the Midland City Clerk's office as soon as possible. Completed absentee ballots must be received by the City Clerk's office by 8 p.m. on Election Day in order to be counted.

Voters living in the city limits should return their ballots to the City Clerk's office by placing it inside the provided postage paid white envelope with a purple stripe on the left side. The envelope must be signed by the voter in the appropriate area in order to be counted.

In addition to mailing via USPS or hand delivering to the clerk, ballot drop boxes are available at the Larkin Street entrance to City Hall (333 W. Ellsworth Street); at the Barstow Municipal Airport (6603 Barstow Drive); and at the Midland Civic Arena (405 Fast Ice Drive) for City of Midland voters. Voters may also take their ballot to their Election Day precinct to personally deposit their ballot into the tabulator for counting.
