Join us for a 4-workshop series with renowned expert, Angela James, PhD from UCLA Center for Transformation of Schools, as we explore best practices for supporting African American students.
Please note: This series is designed specifically for leaders of the 14 districts that were the focus of the Beyond the Schoolhouse reports.
In this workshop series, district leaders will jointly explore strategies for developing targeted initiatives for eliminating gaps in academic outcomes for African American learners by:

Workshop 1: November 3, 2021, 2:30 - 4 p.m. Identifying District Specific Concerns Within and 'Beyond the Schoolhouse.' Deep Data Dive: Patterns; How they manifest in the classroom; and Initiating Targeted Initiatives.
Workshop 2: January 19, 2022, 2:30 - 4 p.m. Implementing Culturally Relevant SEL: Strategies for Creating Curriculum and Broader Systems of Student Support for both General and Racialized Trauma Impacting African American Learners.
Workshop 3: March 23, 2022, 2:30 - 4 p.m. Best Practices for Creating and Sustaining African American Family Engagement.
Workshop 4: May 25, 2022, 2:30 - 4 p.m. Building an Inclusive School Culture: Tools for Assessing and Addressing Disparities in Out of School Discipline. This workshop will focus on building teams & facilitating inter-agency collaborations to support the use of PBIS.
