Mervin Jebaraj, director of the Center for Business and Economic Research at the U of A's Sam M. Walton College of Business, will discuss regional economic issues and state trends in his "State of Economics" talk on Wednesday, June 5.

"The program will analyze updated economic growth projections, inflation expectations, the Federal Reserve's current monetary stance in interest rates and its impact on housing and commercial real estate," Jebaraj said. "As the national and state economies grow through these challenges, timely economic information is vital to good business and policy decision-making."

Registration and networking will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn at 1325 N. Palak Dr. in Fayetteville. Attendees can network with other Northwest Arkansas community leaders before the program begins at noon. The program lasts for approximately 60 minutes, including time for questions and answers.

The cost of the luncheon program is $50. Preregistration by Friday, May 31, is required. Reservations can be made for the luncheon at cber.uark.edu or by calling 479-575-4151.

The Quarterly Business Analysis program builds networks of leaders from the region's business, academic and governmental sectors while addressing the previous quarter's business highlights, key economic trends and projections, and immediate and long-term issues facing the regional and state economies.
