CSX Closing Two Sumter County Rail Crossings for Repairs, Maintenance

Sumter County, FL - CSX Transportation will be performing necessary track maintenance and emergency repairs at two railroad crossings in Bushnell.

On Friday, May 20, at 7 a.m., the crossing on W. Seminole Ave, between S. Main St. and S. Roland St, will be closing. It will remain closed through Tuesday, May 24, 2022. CSX states that it will be a total closure, which means no traffic will be allowed to cross the tracks until the work is done.

A private road by CR 700, near US 301 across from CR 652, will close Friday, May 27 at 7 a.m. and reopen around May 31, 2022. This is also a total road closure in which no traffic will be allowed until the work is completed.

Rerouting traffic will be necessary for both projects and may cause delays and impact travel times. Signage will be in place marking detour routes.

Both projects are dependent on weather and any other unforeseen conditions.
