• Award-winning doctoral thesis: Cost-benefit analysis of the effectiveness of promoting new owner-occupied dwellings
• Award-winning Master's thesis: Using neural networks to estimate the volume of reported construction activities
• Covid-19 special prize: Age-adjusted estimation of annual excess mortality

WIESBADEN- On 17 November 2022, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) gave the prize for junior scientists "Statistical Science for the Society" to two outstanding scientific projects. In addition, a Covid-19 special prize was awarded. The award-winning papers focus on issues of statistics, data analysis and new digital applications. By awarding its research prizes, the Federal Statistical Office promotes innovative data use and methodological research in scientific examination papers that are closely related to official statistics.
