SAN ANTONIO (May 5, 2022) - Hundreds of local pet owners will take on hero status for their animal companions this weekend. It's all thanks to the hometown heroes with Spay-Neuter- Inject-Protect San Antonio (SNIPSA), San Antonio Animal Care Services, the San Antonio Fire Department, and H-E-B. The partners will host a "Big Fix" spay-neuter event this Saturday, May 7 at the S.A.F.D. Training Academy where local veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and animal lovers will oversee close to 400 pet sterilizations - all in one day! Appointments are already full for this weekend's event which will feature free spay-neuter surgery, vaccinations, and registered microchips for pets from many of San Antonio's underserved communities.
Media is invited to learn more about the Big Fix and the community's need for additional spay-neuter resources during the event; however, as a working veterinary clinic, press interviews and photo/video opportunities will only be available from 1PM to 3PM. The S.A.F.D. Academy is located at 300 South Callaghan Road.
