House Democrats Pass Bill to Help Address Baby Formula Shortage

Yesterday, the House passed the Access to Baby Formula Act, a bill authored by Frontline Rep. Jahana Hayes that will help address challenges associated with baby formula shortages in the U.S.

The shortage, caused by a manufacturing recall, has gravely affected families nationwide but has taken an especially dangerous toll on women and children from underserved communities who use WIC (women, infant and children) benefits to purchase formula.

Thanks to Democrats' fighting for solutions, this bill will help families during these difficult times by providing flexibility on what formula can be bought using WIC benefits so low-income families can continue purchasing safe infant formula.

DCCC spokesperson Chris Taylor:

"While Republicans cynically tried to exploit these recalls for political gain and racial divide, Democrats got to work and delivered solutions."
