Shanghai and the provinces of Anhui, Jiangsu and Zhejiang signed a memorandum of understanding yesterday on integrated senior care in the Yangtze River Delta region.
Civil affairs authorities will unify management of senior-care agencies and establish credibility and blacklist systems. They will train nurses and recognize each other's standards in senior care.
More senior-care service resources will be introduced in communities and families in the region. Senior service maps and a community-based consultant system will be launched to help people find suitable care.
The nursing standards on dementia will be raised based on Shanghai's practices. Authorities will also promote the incubation of chain and brand of senior-care service agencies.
Eleven districts in Shanghai and cities, including Suzhou and Nantong in Jiangsu, Jiaxing and Huzhou in Zhejiang, and Wuhu and Chizhou in Anhui, will pilot the regional integration.
