Troutman Pepper Recognized by Dauphin County Bar Association for Diversity and Inclusion Efforts

HARRISBURG, Pa. - The Dauphin County Bar Association (DCBA) recognized Troutman Pepper, and the founders of the Capital Area Managing Partners (CAMP) Diversity Initiative, with the Clarence C. Morrison Award in recognition of firm efforts to promote and advance diversity and inclusion in the legal profession.

Through the CAMP Diversity Initiative and its 1L Internship Program, law firms commit to supporting a minority 1L student with a paid internship to expose students to the practice of law and encourage a legal career in Central Pennsylvania.

Troutman Pepper attorney Justin Weber, managing partner of the firm's Harrisburg office, appeared on behalf of the firm at the Dauphin County Bar Association Annual Membership Meeting on January 26.

"It has been a pleasure to meet and work with some of the smartest up-and-comers the legal industry has to offer," Weber said. "It's gratifying to follow their career success and accomplishments and to be a part of the positive impact of the CAMP initiative and program."

The CAMP Internship Program was founded in 2004 by a consortium of Harrisburg-area law firms, including Pepper Hamilton, now Troutman Pepper, with the goal of creating more internship opportunities for minority students entering their second year of law school. To date, the Program has awarded dozens of internships.

"It is especially rewarding to see former interns become leaders in the legal community," Weber said. "Not only does CAMP's internship program benefit the entire legal industry, but the Harrisburg community also has enjoyed the success of the program by building a more diverse talent pipeline."
