Tashkent – “DIVA” jewellery exhibition

The exhibition "DIVA. Italian Glamour in Fashion Jewellery" arrives in Tashkent. At the initiative of the Embassy of Italy, the exhibition is being staged at the NBU Fine Arts Gallery of Uzbekistan, one of the country's most notable museums. It will be open to visitors from 9 September to 8 October 2022.

Promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the exhibition has already been staged in a number of Persian Gulf countries. It was curated by Alba Cappellieri, Professor of Jewellery Design at the Politecnico di Milano and Director of the Jewellery Museum in Vicenza, along with Livia Tenuta and Susanna Testa.

More than two hundred masterpieces of Italian jewellery-making, the work of independent designers and artisans, illustrate how fashion and society have evolved since the 1950s. The exhibition spotlights the pillars of the Made in Italy brand: creativity, workmanship and innovation.

The choice of Uzbekistan was inspired by economic as well as cultural factors, in the light of the growing involvement of Italian firms and of machinery produced in Italy in the development of Uzbek jewellery production.
