TATNEFT Is Holding the Second International Oil and Gas Youth Forum

The second International Oil and Gas Youth Forum 'Hackathon Oil Tech Challenge 2021' will be held from the 8th to the 15th of July this year in the city of Almetyevsk (Republic of Tatarstan).

The Forum organizers will be the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, PJSC TATNEFT and the Youth Council of the Oil and Gas Industry under the Ministry of Energy of Russia. The operator of the educational program is the National Personnel Training Foundation (NFPK). The partner of the Forum is JSC Zarubezhneft.

The International Youth Forum will be held at the same site parallel with the annual traditional summit of the Republican oil companies' leadership management with participation of Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The main agenda item of the Forum is the topic of sustainable development in the context of the global agenda of the fuel and energy complex in 2021. The participants in the main panel discussion will deliberate on new risks and opportunities for business in the area of sustainable development; focus areas of the oil and gas business decarbonization; development of the circulation economy in the fuel and energy complex companies, etc.

The 'HOT Challenge - 2021' program includes training sessions, round tables, master classes from leading subject matter experts in the fuel and energy complex and the experts on sustainable development, as well as direct communication with the management of oil and gas companies, relevant ministries and departments, hackathon and live networking.

The 'HOT Challenge' is a unique educational platform for identification and professional development of talented youth in solving urgent problems facing the fuel and energy complex of Russia.

The hackathon project objectives will be formulated this year in accordance with the UN Sustainable Development Goals: affordable and clean energy, responsible consumption and production, combating the climate change; conservation of terrestrial ecosystems.

More than 200 young professionals, teachers and students from leading oil companies and universities in Russia and neighboring countries will participate in the event.

The team will receive 420 thousand rubles for winning the hackathon, the second place will ensure 300 thousand rubles and 180 thousand rubles will be the award for the third place (the winning amount will be divided proportionally among the team members). The most active participants will be awarded cash prizes for individual accomplishments, and they will be offered opportunities to enter the personnel reserve of the fuel and energy companies, to undergo practical training in the top oil and gas companies in Russia and foreign countries following the recommendation from the Ministry of Energy of Russia.
