Five first-place finishes for Jimmies at Waldorf Open

FOREST CITY, Iowa-- The University of Jamestown women's wrestling team came away with five first-place finishes and nine top-five places overall at the Waldorf Open, hosted by Waldorf University on Saturday.

Junnette Caldera (SO/Imperial, Calif.) (101), Josie Bartishofski (FR/Weston, Wis.) (116), Jacqueline Parks (FR/Taylor, Mich.) (143), Myranda Velazquez (SR/Los Banos, CA) (155), and Agatha Andrews (SO/Akiak, Alaska) (191) all won their respective weight classes.

Hannah Petersen (109) and Alyssa Schrull (SR/East Helena, Mont.) (170) finished second.

Andrea Prince (SO/Kotlik, Alaska) (155) placed fourth, Jamayia Blackston (SO/Lakewood, Wash.) (116) was fifth, and Samantha Weeks (FR/Tacoma, Wash.) (116) and Sierra Talmadge (SO/Bismarck, N.D.) (155) were sixth.

Caldera, Parks, Velazquez, and Andrews all recorded two pins for UJ.

Petersen, Weeks, Bartishofski, and Prince each had a pin on the day.

Next up for the Jimmies is the Missouri Valley Open at Marshall, Mo., next Sunday.
