San Marcos Creek Project | Project Updates Jan. 28
Bent Avenue Bridge Concrete Deck Pour - Beginning at 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 1, construction crews will be pouring the deck for the Bent Avenue bridge throughout the day. Work is expected to be completed the same day. Access to all neighborhoods and driveways will be maintained. We strongly encourage motorists to take alternative routes and plan for lengthy delays when traveling through the area.
Paving on Bent Avenue - Beginning Monday, Jan. 31, construction crews will begin paving activities on Bent Avenue. Work is expected to be completed on Wednesday, Feb. 2. Flaggers will be in the area directing traffic along Bent Avenue to accommodate a partial closure of Bent Avenue.
Lane Closure on San Marcos Boulevard - The right lane just west of San Marcos Boulevard will be closed on Tuesday, Feb. 1 through Wednesday, February 2 for utility work.
Utility Work on Discovery Street- Beginning on Wednesday, Feb. 2, utility work on the south side of Discovery Street is scheduled. Flaggers will be in the area directing traffic intermittently to keep the area safe for workers and drivers.
The San Marcos Creek Project is a 214-acre project adjacent to the San Marcos Creek, generally bounded by:
- West San Marcos Boulevard to the north
- Grand Avenue to the east
- Via Vera Cruz to the west
- Discovery Avenue to the south
The Creek Project will add the needed infrastructure to reduce long-standing flooding issues and improve traffic circulation while revitalizing and preserving the San Marcos Creek. The project will minimize flooding risks, preserve and enhance the creek habitat, and build a new park and trails. Learn more about the project on our website, www.san-marcos.net/creek.
