Attorney General Miyares Changes Commonwealth's Position on West Virginia v EPA

Avoiding detrimental effects on Southwest Virginia's coal industry

Richmond,VA. (January 19, 2022) - Attorney General Miyares announced today that the Commonwealth of Virginia will no longer be a participating party in West Virginia v EPA.

"I'm proud to announce that Virginia is no longer participating in West Virginia v. EPA, a lawsuit that could devastate the coal industry and the thousands of jobs that industry supports in Southwest Virginia. Virginia is no longer anti-coal," said Attorney General Miyares.
