Inauguration of the Railway Branch in Luena

Sonangol inaugurated, on October 19th, 2021, the Railway Branch of the Benguela Railway (CFB), in the city of Luena, a project resulting from the partnership between its Distribution and Commercialization Business Unit (UNDC) with the CFB, whose main objective is to increase the capacity for transporting petroleum derivatives, with more competitive costs and greater safety, in that region.

The project had an execution period of 11 months, becoming an important milestone resulting from the concerted action of two companies in a joint efforts and resources in the best interest of the populations.

The act was attended by the Secretary of Oil and Gas, José Barroso, the Secretary of Land Transport, Jorge Calumbo, the Governor of Moxico, Gonçalves Muandumba, Sonangol CEO, Gaspar Martins, among other distinguished local personalities, figures from the sector and senior officials from Sonangol.

With the inauguration of the Luena Railroad Branch, Moxico, the province that houses the monument in honor of peace, gains new vigor, becoming an important platform for the distribution of oil products to the provinces of the eastern zone, thus granting greater autonomy of products in this territorial area.​
