Deputy Defence Minister Nikolaos Hardalias meets with his Bulgarian counterpart Yordan Bozhilov in Sofia

The Deputy Minister of National Defence Mr. Nikolaos Hardalias, in the context of his 2-day visit in Bulgaria, had a very cordial meeting today, Monday 21 June 2022, with his Bulgarian counterpart Mr. Yordan Bozhilov.

At their meeting, the strong and friendly relations, over time, between the two countries were confirmed, which are a pillar for their common strategy and close cooperation, in the framework of the European Union and NATO, for the security, stability and prosperity in the broader Balkan region.

The two Deputy Ministers discussed on various matters and exchanged views on the enhancement and upgrade of defence cooperation, to the benefit of the two countries' Armed Forces, as well as the shared management of the challenges and threats faced by the entire Europe and the East Mediterranean.

Finally, the Deputy Minister of National Defence visited the Military Academy "GS Rakovski" HQ, where he was received by its Commander, Major General Todor Dochev. Mr. Hardalias was briefed on the organisation, the programmes of training and education, and he was also toured at its installations.
