SCDOT to temporarily close part of Battleground Road in Spartanburg County as part of I-85 Widening and Improvement Project

Columbia, S.C.(May 1, 2024) - The South Carolina Department of Transportation will temporarily close part of Battleground Road in Spartanburg County beginning May 8, as part of the I-85 Widening and Improvement Project. This closure is anticipated to last 60 days.

During the closure, traffic will be detoured using Phillips Drive, Mt. Olive Road and Swofford Drive. A map of the detour can be found below. Please note that the dotted line indicates that the portion of Battleground from Mt. Olive Road to Watkins Road will be open to local traffic only.
