Allegation of discreditable conduct proven against police sergeant

A public misconduct hearing in respect of PS Christopher Toms, attached to the East Area Command Unit, concluded on Wednesday, 10 October.

PS Toms answered allegations that his conduct amounts to a breach of standards of professional behaviour in respect of honesty and integrity and discreditable conduct.

The hearing found an allegation of discreditable conduct proven, in respect of a chair owned by the MPS which was found in PS Toms's possession.

All other allegations were found not proven.

PS Toms has been on restricted duties. This will be reviewed.
