The talk will focus on the disproportionately large influence Mount St. Helens' eruptions have on our understanding of volcanoes, hazards and eruption response. It will also explore the direct line between lessons learned at Mount St. Helens and current volcanic eruption planning efforts by the U.S. Geological Survey.
