Savadogo: 'Burkina Faso will challenge for a ticket in Cotonou'

OUAGADOUGOU (FIBA 3x3 Africa Cup Qualifiers Benin 2018 ) - Mamadou Savadogo is no doubt an experienced player on a regular basketball team on a full court but he is seeking a new experience with the Burkina Faso 3x3 team that would compete for one of the men's ticket for the FIBA 3x3 Africa Cup in the Benin Qualifier, in Cotonou on August 16-17, 2018.

The very experienced player who has for over a decade represented Burkina Faso at the FIBA AfroBasket insists that Burkina Faso would not just be participants but contenders for one of the seven tickets available for grabs to the Final Round in Lome, Togo.

'We might be new to the 3x3 game but I think it is all about shooting skills and movement. We are ready to showcase ourselves to ensure that we give a good account of ourselves. Incidentally, the players in some of the teams are not new to us and we will use our knowledge of them to see that we make a difference.'

'Our target is to qualify for the Final Round in Togo and we know it won't be easy but I can tell you that we're strong and convinced that we can make it.'

The Burkina Faso team for men is made up of Mamadou Savadogo, Yaya Diarra, Richard Nyampa and Thierry Donald Bazyomo , while the Women's team is led by Diane Ouedraogo, who will be joined by Melody Gnampa, Adama Dabare and Yasminatou Traore.
