The Office of Faculty Development (OFD) invites faculty and librarians to an all-day on-campus writing retreat on Thursday, May 30, from 9 a.m.- 3 p.m. in the Life Sciences Laboratory, Rooms S320, S330, S340 and S350.<_o3a_p>

With the theme "Renewing your Writing Practices," participants in the morning session will write as a large group in the main room or in smaller nook spaces. One smaller room will also be open for those who would like to use the Pomodoro method of writing - writing in 20-minute increments with small pauses to check in with your body and to take a brief one to two-minute break. In the afternoon, OFD staff will host two optional workshops that will run back-to-back.<_o3a_p>

"OFD's annual writing retreat not only gives faculty and librarians the opportunity for a jump start on their summer research and writing, but it is also an important occasion to build connections and community," says Rebecca Dingo, OFD's senior fellow and associate director. "Writing together gives faculty a sense of camaraderie. My goal is for this retreat to be helpful, inspiring, and restorative."<_o3a_p>

Breakfast, lunch, coffee and snacks will be served. Registration via the OFD Spring Writing Retreat form is requested by Wednesday, May 22.
