Sber to help Armenian Post adopt innovative IT-backed transport solutions

Sber, its ecosystem company SETTLEMENT SOLUTIONS, and Armenia's national postal operator HayPost have signed an agreement on intent and cooperation at the 24th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The document was signed by Kirill Tsaryov, Deputy Chairman of the Sberbank Executive Board, SETTLEMENT SOLUTIONS CEO Mikhail Kazakov, and HayPost CEO Hayk Karapetyan.

The parties are set to do the following:

  • gather and systematize the experience of Sber and SETTLEMENT SOLUTIONS in the introduction of innovative IT products, payment services, and transport solutions, as well as share these lessons and technologies with the Armenian Post
  • run a project to introduce a transport tech platform for non-cash payment of fares in the city of Yerevan using the technologies and developments of SETTLEMENT SOLUTIONS
  • give modern Sber equipment to the Armenian Post and introduce it as an innovative solution on transport to unlock non-cash fares in Yerevan
  • identify other lines of cooperation in high-tech, logistics, retail business, trade, settlement, and other financial and banking services through the engagement of companies like SberTech and SberLogistics (Sber subsidiaries), iNovation, HayPost Retail (Armenian Post subsidiaries), and other subsidiaries.

This agreement reflects our focus on the joint development of fare solutions and payment services in Armenian public transport. Thanks to the technologies, expertise, and extensive experience of our subsidiaries - SETTLEMENT SOLUTIONS, SberTech and SberLogistics - we will be able to provide the Armenian Post with systemic support in the implementation of innovative IT products.

Kirill Tsaryov

Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board, Sberbank

Sberbank's IT-enabled payment solutions on transport have proven to be effective in Moscow, as well as other parts of Russia, and I am sure that by localizing this cutting-edge proximity payment technology HayPost will ensure a rapid adoption of contactless payments for transportation purposes in all cities of Armenia. This is our first joint project, and we hope for a long-term and fruitful partnership with SBER and HayPost.
