GLENSIDE, Pa. - Arcadia University student-athletes continued their academic success during the Fall 2019 semester, earning a combined 3.19 grade-point average (GPA). Of the Knights' 24 athletic programs, 22 posted a 3.0 GPA or higher, while 13 accumulated a 3.2 GPA or higher.
In total, 128 student-athletes were selected to the University's Dean's Honors List, which recognizes individuals with a semester GPA of 3.67 or higher. Included in that group are 61 student-athletes that earned a spot on the Dean's Distinguished Honors List for having a 3.9 GPA or higher. The Knights had 23 athletes earn a 4.0 GPA during the fall semester.
'Being a successful student-athlete at the Division III level takes a lot of hard work, resolve, and perseverance,' Executive Director of Athletics and Recreation said. 'Arcadia student-athletes are committed to being successful in the classroom and their chosen sport. They demonstrate a tremendous ability to balance their academic and athletic commitments.'
The women's programs were led by women's volleyball, which earned a 3.64 team GPA for the Fall 2019 term, while women's basketball followed with a 3.41 GPA. On the men's side, baseball held the highest team GPA with a 3.28, followed by men's volleyball with a 3.26 mark.
The Knights had multiple student-athletes recognized for their individual academic honors during the fall semester. and were selected to their respective Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Teams. Crowley was also joined by , , and on the All-MAC Fall Academic Team. In total, the Knights had 80 individuals earn a spot on the 2019 MAC Fall Sports Academic Honor Roll.
