Levitt AMP Utica Summer Music Series Starts Soon

Kopernik Park in the Oneida Square Arts District will soon be transformed with free live music, art, performances, food trucks and a lively atmosphere as the fourth season of the Levitt AMP Utica Music Series kicks off on Monday, June 24th.

Each Monday evening through August 26th, Kopernik Park and the surrounding neighborhood will be activated with free music featuring regional and national headliner acts along with local opening bands and a youth intermission act. The series will feature a diverse lineup of high-caliber talent spanning genres like Funk, Rock, Jazz, County and Latin. The Levitt AMP Utica concerts are events where everyone is welcome to enjoy a reinvigorated space, quality entertainment and building community together in a family-friendly, alcohol free environment.

The Fabulous Mojos will be the first opening band of the series on Monday June 24th from 6 to 7pm. Featuring Cathie Timian on vocals, this new six-piece band will dish up blues, jazz and soul. 17 year old Maggie Stephens will be the featured youth intermission performer at 7pm. Stephens was invited to perform after her participation in the Utica Teen Sing Off event held last month at Handshake.City. At 730pm, Levitt AMP Utica will warmly welcome The Claudettes from Chicago to take the stage as the first headliner of the year.

The Claudettes fuse Windy City piano blues with the full-throttle energy of rockabilly and punk, jazz-age echoes of burlesque and neo-vaudeville and the sultriness of '60s pop-soul to write a thrilling new chapter in American roots music.

Levitt AMP Utica Coordinator Michelle Truett encourages everyone to come down to see what the Levitt AMP Utica Music Series has to offer. Truett says, 'Year four, we're going bigger and better. Diverse bands, unique activities. Plenty for everyone of all ages to enjoy. Once you experience it, you'll want to come back every week!'

The concert series is presented by the Mortimer and Mimi Levitt Foundation and the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties with the support of premier season sponsors including Empire Recycling Corporation, Confidata and ERL Intermodal Corporation, MVP Health Care and the M&T Bank/Partners Trust Bank Charitable Fund. The weekly sponsor for opening night is Total Solutions.
