Hartzler Supports Additional Coronavirus Resources

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler (MO-04) issued the following statement after voting in support of H.R. 6201, the Family First Coronavirus Response Act, the economic package in response to the coronavirus:

'I am pleased to support this package to help Americans who have fallen on hard times due to the coronavirus. This package includes free testing for symptomatic patients, paid sick leave for small business employees, and funds to bolster unemployment insurance programs. This bill offers much-needed relief to people who are negatively impacted by this virus.

'The top priority right now is for people to take the steps necessary to be safe. Congress has been working very closely with the Trump administration to ensure that federal and state agencies have the resources they need to mitigate this public health threat. In addition to this package, we have already taken steps to appropriate nearly $8.4 billion in funding for the appropriate federal agencies tasked with responding to the coronavirus, and President Trump has taken the necessary steps to curb travel from the core outbreak regions.

'As steps are taken to address this concern, I will continue to monitor progress and stand ready to support future actions as need warrants. I feel confident we will get through this together as a nation and encourage everyone to be vigilant in basic health precautions, faithful in prayer, and positive in attitude and support of those around you,' Hartzler said.
