Women's Basketball Gears Up for Greek Tour

PHILADELPHIA -
For two weeks, the Drexel women's basketball team has been hard at work on the court, practicing and preparing for an international tour of Greece that opens later this week. The Dragons, who return all five starters from last year's Colonial Athletic Association finalist squad, will play three games in Greece while immersing themselves in Greek culture and history over their nine-day trip.

The Dragons will take off from Newark International Airport on Thursday evening just before midnight, and will arrive in Athens the following day, August 16. The team will tour the ancient city, visiting sites from the first Olympic Games as well as the Acropolis and several other sites central to the history of the Greek nation. The Dragons will take day trips to Epidaurus, Nafplion, Cape Sounio and Thessaloniki, and will also spend two nights in the coastal region of Chalkidiki.

During their trip, the Dragons will also play three games against some of the top talent in Greece. Game recaps and daily travel updates will be available here on DrexelDragons.com. Fans can also follow along with the tour via the Dragons' Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages, and interact using the hashtags #DragonsAbroad and #OpaDU.
