Medicaid Data Product From Mathematica, NewWave, Now Available Through Carahsoft

PRINCETON, Nj. - April 16, 2024 - Imersis, a leading-edge software-as-a-service product from Mathematica and NewWave designed to help state Medicaid agencies improve their Transformed Medicaid Statistical Information System (T-MSIS) data quality, is now available through Carahsoft Technology Corp., The Trusted Government IT Solutions Provider®. State Medicaid agencies can procure Imersis through Carahsoft's reseller partners and the National Association of State Procurement Officials (NASPO) ValuePoint contract.

"For three years, Imersis has helped states score their T-MSIS data files against the same data quality measures as the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), leading to improved quality and ratings," said Paul Messino, principal researcher and head of Mathematica's Imersis engagements. "Previously, receiving the software required a Request for Proposal (RFP) process. Now, through our partnership with Carahsoft, states can buy Imersis with just a few clicks."

Imersis, the only T-MSIS data quality product available through Carahsoft, processes T-MSIS data files in hours and evaluates them against CMS's T-MSIS data quality requirements utilizing the Outcomes Based Assessment (OBA) framework. It also provides a sandbox for unlimited testing, facilitating the assessment of system changes and readiness for CMS certification of Medicaid Enterprise System (MES) modules. It also includes access to Mathematica's T-MSIS experts who aid states in effectively and efficiently deploying Imersis to bolster their T-MSIS data quality scores.

Noteworthy successes include New Jersey and Maryland, where implementation of Imersis has led to marked improvement in T-MSIS data quality scores.

Imersis is available through Carahsoft's NASPO ValuePoint Master Agreement #AR2472. The availability of Imersis through Carahsoft's NASPO contract streamlines the procurement process for Government agencies. By leveraging the NASPO contract, Mathematica and NewWave can efficiently collaborate with states to address T-MSIS data quality issues.

NASPO ValuePoint is a cooperative purchasing program that provides the highest standard of excellence in public cooperative contracting, solicitations, and agreements. By leveraging the leadership and expertise of all states and the purchasing power of their public entities, NASPO ValuePoint delivers the highly valued, reliable, and competitively sourced contracts, and delivers public entities with outstanding pricing.

"We are thrilled to partner with Mathematica and NewWave in making their innovative Medicaid data solution accessible to state agencies through Carahsoft and our reseller partners," said Tim Boltz, Healthcare Program Executive at Carahsoft. "This collaboration reflects our commitment to providing leading technology solutions that empower agencies to improve their data quality and improve efficiency."
